Are you looking for a new way to show hiring managers that you have the skills needed to do the job?
Through TalentNEO, OhioMeansJobs.com has incorporated WorkKeys® skills scores into all the jobs posted on the site. This allows:
Employers to search for qualified candidates based on the results of their WorkKeys assessments, and Jobseekers to easily search for job openings based on their skills scores.
Sounds good, how do I get a skills score?
You’ll need to take WorkKeys assessments. WorkKeys is designed to assess real-world, workplace skills needed across most jobs. It’s not like the tests you took in school that focus on history, algebra, science, etc. WorkKeys measures common workplace skills.
The best place to start is by taking the practice assessments on the OhioMeansJobs website. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create a user account. When you create an account at OhioMeansJobs you’ll be able to create an employment plan, save jobs, build a resume, and more.
How did you do?
You’re ready to take WorkKeys if:
You know the skills scores for your targeted position(s) and met or exceeded it
You don’t have a targeted position in mind and scored at least a level 3 for each assessment
If you’re not quite there, don’t worry, TalentNEO has a solution to help raise your scores.
What do my scores mean and what should I do with them?
Skills scores range from Level 3 to Level 6 (or 7, depending on the assessment). The higher the score the better. Scores can be used to enter training programs and to improve your job search. More information on assessment results is located in Understanding And Using Your WorkKeys Skills Score.
