The goal of TalentNEO is to increase opportunities for Northeast Ohio jobseekers by demonstrating the value of a skills based approach to attracting, screening, and hiring qualified candidates. By creating a common language of skills between employers and job candidates, TalentNEO will change how hiring is done across Northeast Ohio.

TalentNEO is coordinated by Towards Employment, a Cleveland based nonprofit organization. ConxusNEO leads the initiative in Summit County.

As a demand led initiative, TalentNEO is being piloted in three industries: IT, manufacturing, and healthcare.

To connect with employers, TalentNEO industry partners include: 

MAGNET, the Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network: a nonprofit organization that supports, educates, and champions manufacturing in Northeast Ohio with the goal of transforming the Northeast Ohio’s economy into a power, global player.

The RITE Board, an award-winning model of an industry-led collaborative focused on talent development initiatives in Northeast Ohio. Through collaboration between senior I.T. executives, educational leaders, and industry organizations, the RITE Board is committed to closing the Information Technologies skills gap in the region.

ConxusNEO, a workforce organization in Summit County, is working with the Summit County Manufacturing Network and the emerging TechHire Network to support their engagement in TalentNEO. ConxusNEO will coordinate closely with MAGNET and The RITE Board to assure participating companies have the tools and resources needed to deploy the model.

COSE, Council of Smaller Enterprises, a small business expert organization, offers programs and services designed to grow Northeast Ohio’s small business community successfully.

TalentNEO is a broad regional collaboration with multiple levels of partners working together to address industry needs by connecting jobseekers with employers based on matching skills scores. Partners supporting the efforts of jobseekers include:

Towards Employment: a non-profit organization that has assisted over 100,000 disadvantaged adults in Greater Cleveland successfully transition from poverty to a paycheck. Towards Employment helps people prepare for the job, get the job, keep the job and advance in their careers and partners with local employers to meet their needs. Towards Employment is leading the participant side of the Cuyahoga County work.

ConxusNEO: a non-profit organization based in Akron, ConxusNEO is working to develop and align workforce initiatives in Summit County. ConxusNEO is leading the participate side of the Summit County work and supporting business engagement in the project.

OhioMeansJobs.com: the state’s career and employment website that lists tens of thousands of job openings and provides resources to help employers and jobseekers. Ohio employers are able to access millions of resumes, post job openings for free and utilize Ohio-specific information on everything from wage trends to state incentives for providing job training. Jobseekers can access information, tips and tools that can assist with writing a resume, explore careers, and learn about training and apprenticeship opportunities.

Project Learn of Summit County: helping adults reach their goals of self-sufficiency, independence and job retention through free literacy and workforce development programs. With over 35 years of experience, Project Learn has provided hope and opportunities for over 22, 000 Summit County residents who cannot read and are in need of basic adult education services. Project Learn is leading the Summit County upskilling work.

The Literacy Cooperative of Greater Cleveland: working to advance literacy by raising awareness of the issue, promoting effective public advocacy, and fostering a delivery system with maximum impact on the region. The Literacy Cooperative’s vision is to ensure that all children and adults in Greater Cleveland will reach their highest literacy potential for employment, self-sufficiency and lifelong-learning. Our work focuses on supporting a system of high quality, interconnected and outcomes oriented service delivery, improving early literacy outcomes and defining and strengthening pathways to post-secondary education and careers. The Literacy Cooperative is coordinating the Cuyahoga County upskilling work.
